Daikin Chillers

A variety of chillers are available to meet all your cooling requirements with a range of sizes, capacity and operating modes. Daikin chillers are well known for their high energy efficiency, low operating sound level and precise temperature control. Electronic circuit breakers are available for added safety in the event of a power surge and multiple independent refrigeration circuits provide increased reliability. Premiair supply the following types of chillers manufactured by Daikin:

Air Cooled Chillers

Daikin air cooled chillers are available as a “cooling only” system or a “heat pump” system with optional hydronic components (hydronics is the use of water as a medium for heat-transfer). The most common application for air cooled chillers is to provide chilled water and most of these systems are capable of providing temperatures as low as -10°C. For climate control and other applications that require heating, a heat pump is the most energy efficient solution as it can be set in either a heating or cooling mode. Several Daikin heat pump systems do not even require a gas boiler. Heating efficiency is also possible with some “cooling only” chillers that use “heat recovery” technology. Precise temperature control is made possible by the use of Daikin inverter technology.

For demanding industrial applications, the most versatile Daikin Chillers can function in extreme environments at ambient temperatures between -18°C and 52°C; these particular models are available in fourteen various sizes and use the R-134a refrigerant. Advanced Daikin chillers can also be implemented into a chiller network, which allows four chillers to operate as one unit. Air cooled chillers are designed for either three phase or single phase power with an included mains switch for easy installation.

Water Cooled Chillers

Daikin water cooled chillers generate hot and cold water to provide cooling or heating. Designed for commercial or industrial applications, water cooled chillers are more compact than air cooled systems because they are usually installed indoors. Heat rejection is achieved by the implementation of dry coolers or cooling towers. Heat recovery is available in several models to offer high energy efficiency and many of these systems are capable of providing temperatures as low as -10°C, which is a comparable performance to air cooled chiller systems. All Daikin water cooled chillers use the R-407C or R-134a refrigerants.

Condenserless Chillers

A system that utilises a remote condenser is known as a condenserless chiller. These chillers are excellent for safety applications, extreme operating conditions or in areas with space limitations. Furthermore, condenserless chillers only emit a very low level of sound during operation. In exceptional situations where these are important factors, Premiair Ltd strongly recommend the use of a remote condenser instead of standard air or water cooled systems. Daikin condenserless chillers are certainly the most compact and flexible cooling systems available.

Four different models of the Daikin Condenserless chillers are available. They use the R-407C or R-134a refrigerants and can be utilised as part of a Daikin Integrated Chiller Network.
